Happy Fiestas Patrias!

Fiestas Patrias is a holiday celebrated by Peruvians on July 28th, that marks the declaration of independence from Spain in 1821.

On the evening of 27 July, celebrations begin throughout Peru, where you will hear folk music being played across the parks and plazas. The celebrations continue on July 28th in the capital city, Lima with a patriotic 21 gun salutes and a flag-raising ceremony. The 29th of July is the final day of celebrations, honoring the Armed Forces and National Police.
