February 16th, 2022: Notice on changes to MSIC schemes

1-Stop Connections has been advised that the Department of Home Affairs will be establishing a single issuing authority for maritime security identification cards (MSIC), with the aim to streamline the process for applicants.

The Department of Home Affairs have advised their will be a transition period with more details to come on when this will commence.

During this transition period MSIC applicants can continue to apply for an MSIC card, as per the existing 1-Stop Connections procedure.

1-Stop Connections is committed to supporting MSIC card holders during this time and this includes providing all Department of Home Affairs updates until the transition process has concluded.

The Department Of Home Affairs has advised that once 1-Stop Connections has transitioned to the single government issuing body, applicants will gain access to the new online portal and information and services—including helpdesk access.
