DirectPay: A new optional payment solution by 1-Stop
At 1-Stop we are always looking for solutions that provide improved efficiency and connectivity across the supply chain community. More recently we have worked with industry stakeholders around Australia and undertaken market research to understand the different fees and charges in the supply chain today and consider alternative payment solutions.
As such, 1-Stop has developed a new alternative payment solution called, ‘DirectPay’ via 1-Stop ComPay. DirectPay is an optional payment service that allows Cargo Owners to pay landside charges directly to container terminals. If Cargo Owners do not opt to use DirectPay then the existing payment process will remain unchanged.
DirectPay will allow Cargo Owners & freight forwarders the option to pay DP World’s Terminal Access Charge and Patrick’s Landside Charge prior to the container being received or released from the terminal. Where DirectPay is used by Cargo Owners the Transport Operators will no longer need to make payment.
Benefits to flow from DirectPay include:
- Optionality (Direct Pay is optional for Importers/Exporters and Freight Forwarders)
- Increased flexibility on how Landside Charges are paid
- Simplified supply chain payment process, with more efficient cash flow outcomes across the supply chain
- Improved transparency on supply chain costs
- Reduced credit risk across the supply chain
- Reduction in total supply chain costs
DirectPay will be available from in January 2021. From today, you can express your interest to join our soft launch. During the soft launch, 1-Stop will work with interested parties to understand their processes and how we can smoothly and efficiently make DirectPay available to the supply chain community. At the conclusion of our soft launch, DirectPay will launch in mid-January to the entire community.
1-Stop will charge a fee of $8 + GST per container for providing the optional DirectPay solution and platform.
