I really enjoy this time of the year because it is when I reflect on what has been achieved personally and as a company.
2015 has been a great year for us at 1-Stop and I feel very proud of what has been achieved.
I'm especially appreciative of all the hard work that the 1-Stop team has put in.
As we continue to grow in line with our vision of being a global leader, one of our greatest strengths as an organization is our culture. We have a highly engaged team who are always looking for ways to improve processes in the supply chain for you.
Also upon reflection, 2015 was a busy year for our industry.
From the 1st July, 2015, the merging of the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) and the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service (ACBPS) took place.
The most encouraging sign of this merger is the collaborative approach that is being taken by the DIBP. We look forward to playing an active role on initiatives such as the Trusted Trader and Single Window programs.
Free Trade conversations were had this year as well, and agreements have been made with Japan and China with the latter coming into effect on the 20th December.
2015 also saw a lot of discussions, partnerships and plans for rail and intermodals which I expect will continue well into the new year. All the talk about who’s going to buy Asciano – is it Brookfield or is it Qube? - will keep us guessing over the holiday season.
As the year draws to a close, I want to wish you and your loved ones for a safe and happy holiday. Thank you for your loyalty throughout the year, and I'll see you on the other side of the holidays, ready for more verified container weight discussions next year. You will also see a new website from us as well.
