I read the other day that “knowledge is power”. A common enough phrase but I don't agree with it. Knowledge isn’t power - intelligence is power. What's the difference, you ask? Well let's have a look at the meanings according to Wikipedia:
Information and skills acquired through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject.
The ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills.
I would rather intelligence than knowledge, and this can be in regards to information too. Any service provider can collect data, but the differentiator is one that can acquire the data and apply their knowledge of your business to make it useful and relevant to your role.
If I could picture a perfect world for us then I'd want one where we’d all have access to supply chain information. I’d want data providers to intelligently collate the raw data into meaningful information, not one that displays graphs just because they can. And armed with this, I am positive we could all improve our business efficiencies.
|Think about how you could optimise your business and impress your colleagues by giving them accurate information that has already been dissected and neatly presented. You could also use the information to identify opportunities and share data with different players in the supply chain, because when one of us wins, we all win.
So here are 6 reasons why Business Intelligence from 1-Stop is for you:
1. It’s about You
We recognise your needs and we aim to meet those needs by presenting information suited to you.
2. 1-Stop is the source of the information
We are a central point for the exchange of data and electronic messaging between community members. Our data feeds other organisation’s performance systems, so why not go straight to the source?
3. We’re national
We’ve been collecting data for years from all over Australia. And when we share the information with you, we’ll share all of it to all of you.
4. You don’t need another logon
You’re already using our website for your daily operations so it’s easier to just switch to another screen and not have to remember another logon. Stay right here.
5. It’s for everyone
Carriers are important in the supply chain. So are Importers and Exporters, Freight Forwarders and Customs Brokers, Container Parks and Depots, Shipping lines, Rail operators... In fact, everyone is vitally important to the supply chain. And we’ve got information to benefit all segments of our community.
6. Dashboards, they’re quick
Our dashboards summarises information on the one page. You can drill down to the next detailed layer if you want to as well, but the dashboards will give you a quick overall view of data on the one screen.
